3. Always Present the Best Possible Image
The following points may seem to be minor, but they have a major influence on
the success of a speaker. You should keep the following in mind when answering
questions.
Speak to be understood

Use friendly conversational tone

Speak loudly but not louder then the interviewer

Vary the tone of your voice

Use the words “you” and “we” often to help establish a rapport
Establish and maintain eye contact
Allow you eyes to roam over the interview panel. Catch each person’s gaze for a
fraction of an instant to:

Keep you aware of what is going on

Keep everybody’s attention

Get feedback on where or not you are understood
Control nervousness

Avoid distracting mannerisms: clicking your pen, continuously clearing your
throat, saying “um” and “ah”
